I am a board-certified licensed psychologist in Texas, with a passion for helping others have a change of heart in order to Think.Grow.Live!  As a Christian psychologist, I use these values to foster a genuine, compassionate, accepting, and truthful style of relating to others.  I believe the patient-therapist relationship is an integral factor in the process and outcome of treatment.

I am a proud graduate of The Xavier University of Louisiana, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. Next, I obtained an M.S. in Counseling from an accredited program at the University of North Texas at Dallas. Afterwards, I went on to earn a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology (with an emphasis in couple and family therapy) from an American Psychological Association (APA)-accredited program at UNT.   My training also consists of an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral residency with an emphasis in couple and family therapy at Dallas VA Medical Center. Since then, I have worked as a staff psychologist providing evidence-based treatment, conducting psychological evaluations, and supervising and training psychology interns/residents and medical residents.

I have experience in all treatment modalities (i.e. individuals, couples, family and group).  As such, my training has afforded me the opportunity to treat clients from diverse age groups, ethnic cultures, stages of life development, career paths, and spiritual/religious practices.  My special interests include interpersonal psychotherapy, couple and family dynamics, clinical supervision/consultation, and spirituality in psychotherapy. While I implement evidenced-based treatment to address a number of concerns, I specialize in the following areas:

  • Couple, family, and relationship distress

  • Depression and anxiety resulting from interpersonal conflict

  • Adjustment from life transitions (e.g. grief, graduation, loss of/change careers, end of relationship)

  • Grief and caregiver concerns

  • Spirituality and daily living

I strive to be a warm and inviting psychologist who offers professional expertise with a personal touch.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, baking, reading, and watching my favorite TV shows.  I am also an active member in my church and community.

You change your life by changing your heart.
